And the result is ...

Me, ready to eat the monster!
... FAIL.

Well, that's a little harsh. I'm impressed with how much I ate. But in a 'black or white' world, I did not finish. My fans had their confidence in me. See those dollar bills in front of me and the monster--those were bets placed on me finishing first.

When I got to Pica Taco, I learned the Washington Post was covering the event that day. Stay tuned for that write up!

The four competitors, about halfway through the event.
There was another pair of competitors, in addition to Yang and me. They had a bet, and the guy in the black shirt won. So he challenged green shirt to the contest. Black shirt was the only victorious one of the four of us. I think his name is John.
After 45 minutes of eating.

Stephen, digging in to the leftovers.
After 45 grueling minutes of cut, chew, swallow, repeat, I was able to crack a sheepish smile, and Yang was feeling less than stellar. My exact words to those who texted for results were: "I had just shy of a half pound left." I think it's fair to say I ate about 3.7 lb of the mound of beans, rice, chicken, and burrito shell. Yes, that's it folks--no salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or cheese. That's what I blame for not finishing. I couldn't bare the taste of beans and rice any longer!

I appreciate the fans that came out to support. "Eye of the Tiger" was an awesome pick me up. And who doesn't start chewing faster when LMFAO tunes are blasting in the background.

Would I do it again? Heck no.

Would Yang do it again? Allegedly, she's going for attempt #3 next month!

Thank you Sophia and Kim for taking photos. Thank you Stephen and Yang's friend for eating the leftovers.

I still haven't decided on the official year of Emily February event, but stay tuned for that decision and the Washington Post's take on the day!
